The Queue: Who do you call

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) is recovering from the plague. No, not the Plague of Undeath, although that might be kind of cool in retrospect.

I used to watch this cartoon religiously when I was a kid. Earlier this week, I took a good look at it for what it was: A group of miniature wild animals living in a city park with t-shirts that somehow changed color and gave them the power to fight crime. ... man I don't even know. But the kangaroo in the video up there? You might recognize her voice -- that's Nancy Cartwright, who also does the voice for Bart Simpson.

@_Vsmit asked via Twitter:

In Naxx, why does Thaddeus yell that we're too late, and he must obey? Did I miss something somewhere?

Ooo, this is a good question. Thaddius was supposedly built from the flesh of women and children -- their souls are fused together inside of him. If you listen to the ambient noise when you're in Naxxramas, you can randomly hear the screams of these people crying for help. Once you've killed Thaddius, the screams stop.

Basically, the screaming is the souls of the damned bound inside of Thaddius, hoping you'll come to rescue them. That intro quote is telling you that you're too late to save them all -- that's also why he thanks you when he dies.

Gross, huh?

anastrace asked:

I noticed I was having a real bear of a time doing the pve dailies on the Isle of Thunder, so I switched to the pvp dailies instead. I breezed through them. Is that normal? Are they easier by design? And do you think they will continue to offer things like the pvp dailies?

Well, the main difference between PvP vs. PvE dailies is that with one, you travel all over and do things for people. With the other, you travel to one place and beat the snot out of some dudes -- however, you run the risk of being killed by other players while you are doing so. That, and the PvP dailies offer PvP rewards, rather than the standard PvE rewards you'll get from doing daily quests. They definitely aren't easier if you run into resistance from the opposite faction.

@shamanrongar asked via Twitter:

Blizzard offers paid look, faction, race, and realm changes. I'd love a class change option. Has that ever been on the table?

No, and I don't think it'll ever be on the table. Part of that whole leveling experience is learning how to play the class you've chosen. Even if you paid to swap classes, how would you know how to play it effectively? I just think it's too much of jump for Blizzard to make.

Koboi_K asked:

Q4tQ: Is there anything I could or should do as an engineer/alchemist to prepare for 5.3? I don't want to stock up living steel bars if there's nothing new I could use them for.

Not to my knowledge -- the engineering items are still delayed, and as far as I've heard, there's nothing new going on for Alchemy, either. So you're safe, no need to prepare this time around!

@Onebigmutha asked via Twitter:

Does the Wrathion meta need to be equipped to get the Runestones? OS etc. It could just be RNG

I believe so. When you get a runestone, Wrathion chats at you about it for a minute or two through the meta you're wearing. You can purchase different metas from the Blacktalon Quartermaster in the Veiled Stair if you need a different one -- the cost is five Primal Diamonds. If you haven't picked up a meta for your offspec, I'd recommend doing it! They're amazing.

the8thcure asked:

Not to sound like a noob, but does using Dungeon Finder reduce the difficulty of a dungeon the same way that using Raid Finder does?

Not a noob question at all! Using the dungeon finder won't decrease the difficulty of a dungeon, but you'll sometimes find yourself with the Luck of the Draw buff, which increases your damage, healing, and health by 5%. It stacks up to three times. It's not the same as the stacking LFR buff, but it helps make things a little more manageable.

@mementh asked via Twitter:

what in game something or another would be the scariest thing in real life?

Well I think we've already established that Thaddius is pretty dang creepy.

JeffLaBowski asked:

Q4tQ: Why do some grey items look better than greens or even blues? I know this is subjective but it's stunning really.

Man I don't know, but I wish they'd let us use more of those items for transmogrification!

Robert Manning asked:

Q4tQ: If, and this is purely hypothetical, i wanted to cut down the mightiest tree in the forest, what should i use, great internet wizrard?

First, you turn it into a flea -- a harmless, little flea. And then you put that flea in a box, and then you put that box inside of another box. Then you mail that box to yourself, and when it arrives, smash it with a hammer.

Trust me.
