WoW Moviewatch: Nobody's Quest Episode 6

Well, this is it. The final episode of Nobody's Quest. It's been a thrill to see this weekly series, and I'm a little sad to see it end. Ninth Batter is being very responsible by saying he wants to do more, but can't promise it due to other responsibilities. This sort of thing does take an immense amount of time, so I understand. But I can hope.

This was a good wrap-up. I was surprised how satisfied I felt with the ending. I tend to shy away from love stories. It's not that I think they're bad, it's just that they can go awry pretty quickly. But with a healthy dose of humor and some fun little puns, Ninth kept the whole plot on their rails. Like I said, this was fun stuff. I hope we see more. Interested in the wide world of machinima? WoW Moviewatch: Nobody's Quest: Episode 5

We return to the exposition and story-driven drama of Nobody's Quest with Ring of Fire. The heroes have finally discovered the final villain, the goal of their quest, and the precipice of their final showdown. With a little betrayal and a lot of confusion, Mortimer reaches a startling realization about what's really going on.

I've enjoyed this series immensely. I hope Ninth Batter feels emboldened to keep going after this storyline. The first attempts at storytelling are always the roughest, and I think there's more than enough meat in the ensemble cast to grow the world. Interested in the wide world of machinima? WoW Moviewatch: Nobody's Quest Episode 4

The fourth episode of Nobody's Quest brings us some more sweet, sweet, difficult-to-animate combat. Not only does Ninth Batter step up with more humor and plot action, but we finally see the dark heritage of our gnome protagonist. More importantly, we get some conflict with the villain.

It'll be interesting to see where this story ends up going. There's been such a lack of story-driven machinima for so long, I hope that Ninth is getting enough of a reception to keep going for a while. One of the defining aspects of the death knight class is their inimitable voice. That hollow, Darth-esque echo lends a creepy underpinning to the characters. Episode 3 of Nobody's Quest opens up with that subject and then plunges back into the story.

I'm digging how NinthBatter is stepping into character development. Exposition and exploration can be important parts of a character's life. But rather than get trapped in the sticky mess of exposition, Ninth immediately launches into a plot twist and story progression. WoW Moviewatch: Nobody's Quest Episode 2

NinthBatter has released the second episode in the Nobody's Quest series. While the plot doesn't leap forward in this video, NinthBatter takes the time grow the characters and expand on his universe. It's an important part of the overall journey, I think, so we can hope it's time well spent.

Ninth has said that this series is growing his respect for the machinimators who perform complex animation. Fight scenes, especially, are a pain in the neck to get right. While that may be true, Nobody's Quest sees a lot of benefit from the exemplary voice acting. You can't undervalue how important skillful and convincing voices are to a machinima. WoW Moviewatch: Nobody's Quest Episode 1

Do you remember Nobody? How about Nobody's creator, Ninth Batter? Both are back with a story-driven machinima called Nobody's Quest Episode 1. With a definite plot, plenty of exposition, and actual narrative structure, Nobody's Quest already looks refreshing and exciting.

The first episode is only a few minutes long, but Ninth already has six episodes in the can. Keep checking back every week for the new episode. Hopefully, this kind of story video will get fans excited and we'll see many more in the future. My hat's off to Ninth Batter for reinvigorating this method of storytelling.
