Patch 5.3 hotfixes for June 14

Patch 53 hotfixes for June 14New hotfixes for patch 5.3 have just been updated to the official blog. Today's round is short, sweet, and includes one change that should make raiders in LFR breath a small sigh of relief. RygariusCreatures Kor'kron Commanders are now immune to charms.Raids, Dungeons and Scenarios Throne of Thunder Lei Shen Bouncing Bolts that do not impact with a player will no longer cause Unharnessed Power to spawn on Raid Finder difficulty.Pet Battles PvP Pet Battles are now required to last at least a minute before the match is eligible for experience to be awardedItems Meta and blue gem sockets have been added to helmets awarded from Heroic Scenarios. Bonuses on the helmets have been reduced slightly to offset the addition of those sockets.Brawler's Guild Razorgrin should no longer slowly regenerate health.

That's a pretty big nerf to Lei Shen, even if it is for LFR only. Do you think the nerf was warranted? Do you think other bosses should be adjusted as well? Tags: featured, hotfixes, patch-5.3, patch-5.3-hotfixes, wow-hotfix, wow-hotfixes

Hunter hotfixes clarified

Hunter hotfixes explainedIf you don't follow Blizzard Senior PvP Designer Brian Holinka on Twitter, you could be forgiven for not knowing anything at all about the latest batch of hunter changes. Hunters are the class of the moment for PvP changes, with players complaining variously that they are doing too little damage (hunters) and too much damage (everyone else). As a result of this, hotfixes have come in, mostly relating to hunter pets.

Blink Strikes was turned into a passive ability with 5.3, allowing the pet's Basic Attacks to deal 50% increased damage, be usable from 30 yards away, and also instantly cause the pet to teleport behind their target. This was causing some fairly high damage in PvP, especially in line with Stampede, and the latest reset includes hotfixes to both abilities.

However, thanks in part to the rather mysterious nature of these changes, there has been a lot of speculation about just exactly what is going on. To quell the QQ, Blizzard Community Manager Nakatoir has stepped in with clarifications of the changes.

NakatoirQuote:

-No silencing shot for BM - Yes for the two other specs it should not be touched.
-Stampede removed from arena - All speccs
-Readiness do not reset scatter/trap - All speccs
-Readiness do not reset Bestial Wrath

It's not any of these, however the changes Holinka mentioned for Hunters coming with the restart on Wednesday are relating to Stampede and Blink Strikes.

The changes we have coming for Blink Strikes are intended to assist with the regular complaint we hear about peeling Hunter pets. The change will mean that Hunter pets will only be able to Blink Strike once every 20 seconds and there will be a 10 yard minimum range to avoid the pet using it off cooldown when it's already close to the target. We hope that this will help with Hunter pets utilizing large amounts of glue to stick to their targets.

Our plans for Stampede are actually quite simple to explain; we are removing the ability for the pets summoned through Stampede to use any abilities. The end result of this change should be that the pets a Hunter summons from Stampede will only be able to auto-attack. As you are all aware, these changes will result in a quite the reduction of net damage for Hunters, because of this we have also done a minor 15% buff buff to the damage of Arcane Shot.

Not only are there these changes, but there is still more to come in patch 5.4. We cannot go into details on these for the moment, but keep an eye out for them on the blog ;)

Patch 5.3: Hotfixes for May 22

Patch 53 Hotfixes for May 22Another day, another set of hotfixes. Patch 5.3 has not been without its hiccups, with a reasonable list of known issues appearing from Blizzard earlier today. But the developers are fixing the issues as quickly as they appear, with changes already in place to work out the problems encountered in the seat of knowledge, where the lack of a graveyard meant that players were unable to retrieve their corpses. A hotfix has been made which allows players who have died in the Seat of Knowledge to fly back to their bodies with a Spectral Gryphon (Wisp for Night Elves) or a Spectral Wyvern.

Is this the first step towards Blizzard allowing corpse flying in Pandaria? Check out all the hotfixes after the break.

Patch 5.2 Hotfixes for April 4

Patch 52 Hotfixes for April 4The hotfixes keep on coming! The latest batch are fairly minimal, but they don't make diamonds as big as bricks. They're addressing one particular bug which WoW Insider has seen mentioned several times on Twitter lately, specifically one which would strand players on a phased warship while trying to complete the quest Extended Shore Leave. Unable, it seems, to hotfix the unphasing of the warship, Blizzard's team pulled the quest for now.

And Durumu has had a bit of a change. Interestingly, it's not to the purple-on-purple issue with his maze of purple death phase, but instead it's an increase in speed for the yellow eye cone. But, most excitingly, there's a fix in place for warlocks who have completed Seek the Signal and are stuck in the wrong Black Temple phase. Rejoice, in a warlocky way!

RygariusQuests Extended Shore Leave: This quest has been temporarily removed from quest rotation to address an issue with the Zandalari Warship.Raids, Dungeons, and Scenarios Fixed an issue where Warlocks remained in the wrong phase at The Black Temple after completing the quest Seek the Signal.Throne of Thunder Durumu the Forgotten During the Light Spectrum phase, Yellow Eye's cone now moves more quickly on Raid Finder difficulty.Items Darkmoon Card: Blue Dragon now has a reduced chance to activate its effect for characters that are level 61-69 and its effect no longer activates for characters above level 69.

It's a pretty short list this time around, mainly tweaking a few issues with some of the encounters in Throne of Thunder, including Ra-den, and addressing a pesky bug that has been plaguing some players working on Isle of Thunder achievements. RygariusCreatures Zandalari Beast Handler is now properly seated in a saddle while riding a Direhorrn.Raids, Dungeons and Scenarios
Throne of Thunder Giorgio's Caduceus of Pure Moods is no longer being awarded to Elemental and Restoration Shamans on Raid Finder difficulty or via bonus rolls.Primordius During the Primordius encounter, spells which dispel a single harmful effect (Sear Magic, Single Magic, or Mass Dispel) will no longer work if any of the positive effects are active on the target (Improved Synapses, Keen Eyesight, Thick Bones, Clear Mind, or Fully Mutated).Ra-den Fixed an issue that could prevent Ra-den from absorbing Essences of Anima/Vita as intended.Engaging Ra-den now resets the cooldown on Reincarnation for Shamans.Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where some situations could cause players to not receive credit towards Pay to Slay or It Was Worth Every Ritual Stone achievement after defeating Incomplete Drakkari Colossus.

Blizzard has released a few small hotfixes that went in place this last Tuesday, January 8. And while we're just hearing about them now, indications are that they are active on the live servers at this time.

Notable is the Vengeance/Attack Power hotfix that counters the extreme level 80 soloing done by a resourceful paladin.

The full list is as follows:
